Job Posting with class year

I just saw a job at a firm I’d really like to work at. However, it’s looking for a 2019 grad, which is a few years my current level. I’d need to ramp up a bit at the firm, so I wouldn’t mind coming in as 2019. However, if a firm is looking for 2019, will they even consider anyone more senior?

In my experience the class year is rarely inflexible, but if they specifically request a junior associate they probably won't consider someone with 5+ years. Can't hurt to submit your resume though. The firm might not be getting a lot of qualified applicants, especially if it's not a highly-ranked practice group.

No firm is so unicorn that you should voluntarily suffer years of class cuts and forego $100,000+ in comp including bonuses.
If they need juniors, they probably also need mid/seniors.
