Question Re: NYU tax LL.M.

My only interests with respect to tax is individual income tax. I have zero interest in corporate tax. Would an LL.M. from NYU be a waste of time learning-wise or career-wise? (Cost is not really an issue.)

What kind of jobs are you interested in? Tax advice for ultra-high-net-worth clients? Or just want to prepare your friends' returns?

I'm interested in providing tax advice to high-net worth individuals. While I have no interest in corporate tax, I'm also not enthused about working at the corner H&R Block.

You know that HNWIs are likely to have tax needs that are outside of "pure" individual income tax, right? You might need to know how corporate shareholders are taxed (or not taxed) in certain circumstances, for example. I suppose you could tell them to go see someone else for those issues, but I'm not sure it's the best approach.

The Tax LLM with a certificate/focus in trusts and estates might be a good fit for you.
