Any information on White & Case? I know rejections have already come out, but don't know about final offers -- had a CB last week, firm said that they'd "be in touch soon," but don't know what the expected timeline should be.

Re: 1L SA C/O 2023
Cravath doesn't send out interviews or CBs at a tier 3 school. TLS tiers are t3/hys, t6/CCN, t14, UCLA/UT, T20, T25, and maybe t50? After that results should pretty much be similar regardless of rankAnonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 6:11 pmT3 as in HYS, or Tier 3?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 5:53 pmCSM has sent out interviews and CBs (and dings) at my T3. Does anyone know if 1L summers generally get invited back the next year, without having to interview? Or do you have to be “exceptional” (however that’s defined) to get a return offer? Assuming a non-COVID year, of course, since I realize no one knows for sure what firms will do this summer. Gig is at a V30-50, if that’s relevant. Thanks!

From what I've been told and heard, you're offered a chance to come back the second summer without having to go through the process again. Offered the same way a 2L summer would get a fulltime offer except you'd get a 2L summer offer and then eventually a fulltime offer. Once you interview with a firm and get the offer, I don't think they waste resources interviewing you again.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 3:24 amDoes anyone know if 1L summers generally get invited back the next year, without having to interview? From my anecdotal knowledge, a 1L gig at a firm you'd be at least willing to work at after graduation is the ideal outcome for 1L summer, if your goal is "just" to go into BigLaw. Literally puts you onto the conveyor belt and you'll just go from 1L summer --> return offer for 2L summer --> 2L summer --> return offer after graduation, without any additional interviews or hoops to jump through. Pretty sweet deal tbh, and the peace of mind you get going into EIP/OCI is priceless.
Of course, not sure if that's still the case nowadays and esp. this year. Also, this is of course assuming adequate work product and that you don't spout innuendos in front of a partner or leak confidential client information.

Re: 1L SA C/O 2023
Was a 1L SA at a firm this past summer, they also offered a very nice scholarship if we returned as a 2L and I'm planning on returning. I know some of the other 1Ls who are choosing to summer at different firms are doing touchbacks with our firm and will probably then at least have 2 offers to choose from for post-grad. Agree with the above that getting an offer at a firm you would be happy working at post-grad is the move, but also 1L SA positions are just hard to get so that's easier said than done.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 5:29 pmAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 12:48 pmFrom what I've been told and heard, you're offered a chance to come back the second summer without having to go through the process again. From what I've seen on LinkedIn, Sidley, L&W, K&E, and STB have at least hired some 1Ls in some of their offices

Making this post to give some hope - lower vault firms are still sending out screener/callback interviews out.
