Has anybody applied to the SEC enforcement division? What’s the interview process/timeline like?

I applied for a position in a regional office not too long ago.

My experience was: apply -> received email asking for more docs -> received interview request -> Interview1 -> interview 2 --> offer/rejection

I applied to a different division in HQ. Basically as above. Apply -> 6-8 week black hole after application closed -> email from OHR -> first round interview -> wait two weeks -> second round interview -> wait two weeks -> contingent offer -> accept -> wait one week -> get a bunch of paperwork from personnel security -> wait four weeks -> email about start date.

I didn't get asked for more docs; maybe thats an ENF thing. You can ignore the emails from USA Jobs about your eligibility being certified, etc. As far as I can tell, they have no bearing on the actual process. I had been invited to do a second round interview before getting the email saying that they had certified my eligibility for the grade.

My brother applied for a spring externship with one of the regional offices for the enforcement division. Interviewed (2nd interview) about 2 weeks ago and hasn't heard anything since then.

Congrats! How soon after the first interview did you get notified that you were being offered a second?

The above was unclear, but I meant it was two weeks of silence before I got an email asking me to schedule the second.

I actually was part of multiple different interview processes and got the sense that any timing is extremely dependent on who is doing the hiring. Obviously it's not a great sign if you've waited a long time between the first and second rounds, but I'd hesitate to read too much into my experience. Now that the fiscal year has ended and with the holidays approaching, I think they aren't going to be moving the ball very much.

Ah thanks for this. Appreciate it very much.

I was contacted for a first round interview a few weeks after the application deadline passed. Interview is coming up soon. What types of questions does a SEC panel ask in a first round interview? I assume they stick to a loose script focused on job duties. Any behavioral questions?

I interviewed in two different office and they both asked five questions that were behavioral but generally based on the job duties. For example, one was something along the lines of "In this job, you will have many competing priorities. Imagine a situation where you are asked to do an urgent task when you are already quite busy and there is no way you can finish in time. How would you handle it?" All five were stereotypical questions that we've all heard before and in both cases, the interviewers apologized that they had to ask them.
