I don't have anyone to ask in person and am considering an offer from B&T, so I figured I'd ask here.

What kind of reputation does this firm have in the legal industry? I see a lot of offices, and a lot of lawyers, but are they generally well-regarded? What do people say about associate life there when they're being honest?

What kind of salary increases would I be looking at, and when do people actually make partner (if they do, which leads me to the question of whether people are routinely pushed out)?

Basically, any information (anecdotal or otherwise) on what it's like to work there.

Which office? The Indianapolis office is regarded as probably the most big law-ish firm in Indy. The general reputation is that they will work you harder than all of the other top firms, like Ice or Faegre, but the pay is the same. Barnes is definitely a premier Indy firm, but I would rate Faegre, Taft, and Ice above them when factoring in quality of life. That being said, if you have an offer, and want to work the market, I would take it because spots are limited elsewhere.

No insight on comp, etc. I worked across from attorneys in one of their CA offices on a finance matter and they were pleasant and easy to deal with. They seemed to know what they were doing.
