September Hiring

Legal Hiring is in full swing this fall. The estimated number of hiring announcements is matching the estimated number of chief legal officers and general counsel posts from last year. This is a good sign for those on TLS searching for a new position. Some law firms are even increasing their hiring!

Does anyone have any insight as to which V100 firms are currently seriously looking to onboard laterals? I don't mean just filling a vacancy here and there, but firms that are healthy and are actively trying to grow various practice areas.

The post appears to be referring to higher-tier in-house listings given the reference to "general counsel and chief legal officer" posts. That has essentially nothing to do with 3L biglaw hiring, or really much to do at all with the general market for legal talent. Can't hurt to apply to biglaw, but I'd focus my efforts elsewhere if you are a 3L without something lined up.
