I unfortunately think this is one of the negatives of being at a lockstep firm. I don’t have any advice, but I don’t think you should request a class year bump.

Being a second year is like being a toddler. Some are more advanced than others, but most catch up at some point. Use your "mastery" to think about ways to make equity partner sooner.
You are constantly going to have this issue though. Just wait until you manage deals better than those above you.

This is an objectively terrible idea. Do not do this. Best way to “increase” your comp is to work less hours — quit taking on so much work vs peers. You will only become more of a target as you become more senior (e.g, John or Jane smith will take this on... no chance they say no!).
