I think I’ve seen this discussed before, but I can’t find the thread anymore.
I sent my resume for a position that had no opening through a friend. I spend half my time in this practice. I received an email within a day that there’s no opening.
The firm posted a different position for a practice area I spend the other 50% of my time.
I’m mostly applying to try to go back to my home market and would gladly take a position in the second role.
Will the firm not consider me for the role because I just asked about a different practice group?
