Hi everyone,

First post: Currently a junior associate at a v25 law firm in major market, looking to make a lateral move. thinking about several markets but really having trouble finding information about how the nashville firms have weathered the COVID storm. Anyone have any ideas? Are they still hiring? Any layoffs?

Much appreciated!

I'm no longer as plugged-in to Nashville as I used to be, but I can tell you that you have scant chances without 1) strong ties or 2) really good experience in the healthcare space, which as a junior you don't by definition. It's been a competitive market for the past decade.

I assume it's business as usual, although hiring might be slow for the next year or two due to economic uncertainty. The institutional clients that Nashville firms tend to rely on have been doing okay for the most part, and that's the lifeblood of flyover biglaw.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated! i figured that the market was competitive and it'd be an uphill climb. Good to know that (understanding that you're not as plugged in as before) the firms haven't catered financially, it seems.

Would really appreciate any other thoughts!
