post-Covid Litigation Firm Activity

I am reading in the news (general and legal periodicals) about the return of cases and new matters in litigation, as courts re-open and businesses start to ramp up. But my firm (litigation boutique) really has not seen much of this activity. Business is low, associates do not have work, and new matters aren't coming in. Also, clients are still having us be pencils-down on older matters.

Have others seen litigation start to ramp back up? That's the supposed story if you read the news, but I don't see it.

I am a summer at a firm that specializes in commercial personal-injury defense, and several attorneys have commented that things are picking back up here in Texas at least. We have had numerous depositions, including a couple in-person (which surprised me), over the past few weeks and we are seeing hearings being scheduled in-person for the near future.
