Big Law & Covid-19

I am in New York and my work is voluntary work from home. I kind of get the sense that they want people to come in and don’t care if their employees get sick. Anyone else feel this way?

Work from home. Doesn't matter what your work is trying to imply by not making it mandatory. Whereas many jobs and industries don't lend themselves to remote work, biglaw work can routinely be done from home with minimal inconvenience. But as usual, biglaw is behind the 8 ball when it counts.jarofsoup wrote:I am in New York and my work is voluntary work from home. Not legal advice, but my sense from Cuomo's EO is that effective today, you can't work in the office (unless you're an "essential" employee, which generally associates/partners are not - "essential" mostly means things like security, mailroom staff, some IT, maybe some secretaries).jarofsoup wrote:I am in New York and my work is voluntary work from home.
