Would you take this job?

3rd year in biglaw. Work primarily in leveraged finance. Recently a PE client lost their junior associate in their debt capital markets team. Both NYC based. Basically job will be a complete shift to a business role - coordinating with lenders to provide capital to fund investments. No deal execution though (since that's handled by the deal teams at the fund). Comp is still uncertain but I expect it to be lower than the firm at least in the short-term.
Would you make the switch? Am I giving up a legal career as a result? Pros? Cons? Help me please!

Unless you really love your job, depending on the client, yeah, make the switch. If you suck at generating business, they don't care. If you're good at it, you'll have far better opportunities from the PE fund. You'll probably have more job stability too. And if you really don't like it, it's not unheard of to go back.
