Thought we could use a thread to share movement on dings/screeners/callbacks/offers.

I just did an interview with a V50 in NYC. No grades. I think the screener was skipped and we went straight to CB. Haven't heard from anywhere else yet--would love to hear updates from others

Received an offer from a V20 firm and callbacks from several V50 firms. All NYC office. No grades, HYS. Has anyone without grades yet seen movement from V10 firms?

If you're comfortable answering, when did you submit apps? And are you from NYC area? I'm the second anon and I'm outside NYC and submitted most apps early Dec

bump on this; curious to hear more. Sent out a ton of applications, only 1 response so far (TX).

Based on my classmates, people who submitted over the holidays are also getting callbacks from a few V20 firms. Most of the V10 seems to be waiting for grades.

Oh wow. This is second anon again, also HYS, and have gotten a couple screeners but only one CB so far. I spoke to a current 2L who targeted NYC last summer and he said he didn't start getting screeners until late Jan/early Feb so I'm hoping it's still early.

Grades recently came out for us (H) and there has been a good amount of CB movement. If you are at HYS and had fine grades, I don't think you need to start worrying yet.
Are you diverse? Have you been attending any events hosted by the firms?

Yep, diverse and good grades. I'm at S and we don't have many events hosted by NYC firms, mostly just Bay Area firms. But I got an offer that I'm happy about and will probably take, especially seeing how I haven't gotten many responses. I got a screener from a V10 shortly after our grades came out btw, so that confirms what you were saying earlier. I haven't spoken to many of my 1L classmates about this because so few are applying for 1L BigLaw positions in NYC. The only other person I've spoken to said he hasn't heard much from firms, either.

Also kinda surprised there aren't more responses on this thread since previous years' threads are super long...wonder if that's just a coincidence or indicative of 1L SA hiring this year

Has anyone heard from White & Case NY? Radio silence since sending in my transcript post-interview.

Just to add data, 5 pre-grade CBs (still doing them). I applied VERY broadly and the firms all range from V10 to the bottom. Grades were below median so I’m not very optimistic on how it’s going to pan out. All diversity fellowship, from bottom of t14

At T-14, above median. Applied broadly to firms for 1L diversity late December with transcript update last week, haven't heard back either.

T30 Top 5% got 2 dings (Morgan Lewis without an interview and MassMutual after interview) and nothing else

Can confirm (CCN) 1L offers for people at:
STB
Weil
Shearman
King & Spalding

None are diverse. All are NYC.

Any movement from Paul, Weiss (NY)?

I know there’s some movement for Paul, Weiss - one of my friends had an interview within the past couple of weeks.

I interviewed with Skadden and STB NYC the week of 1/20. Both gave 1-2+ week timeline and I am still waiting to hear back from both.

I didn't apply to White & Case NY, but I'm at HYS and a few of my classmates have gotten interviews (with no screeners) in the past couple of weeks.

Have any of you heard from the Dallas market? Especially Hayboo and Akin Gump.

Had a callback with Weil in NY last week. I know they are still doing callbacks this week as well.

I’m the previous anon; I can only tell you what I know, which is 3 people with Skadden offers at CCN. I understand that Interviews and callbacks happened within a week.

Also at HYS, STB has extended offers and Skadden did screeners a while ago (but I didn't get a CB so can't confirm if offers are out).
