Problems at Schiff Hardin

Current 2L (anon for obvious reasons) planning to SA with Schiff but have heard that the firm is having problems (no offered something like 3-5 of last summer's class and is struggling with having enough business to go around). I know there was a big split several years ago when lawyers left to start a new firm. Should I be concerned and looking for other places to work? Does anyone know anything about this?

Can only speak anecdotally, but know several law school classmates that went to Schiff and also the breakaway Riley Safer. All but one of my classmates at Schiff are still there, so they must be doing well enough not to push out that many mid-levels and/or make their lives miserable. Also, I use schiff occasionally because I am in-house and they have done a good job.

With that said, I know they do not pay market bonuses or raises and if they are having financial issues that will only continue. So if you have some work experience or are a summer then I'd look to make a move or trade up during 3L, but if you are a first year or going to be a first year then stick out unless it becomes obvious that they are having issues and pushing people out.
