Does anyone suggest asking a judge for a legal internship via email? I would like to reach out to the law clerk. They are not looking for an intern. Is this normal?

Do you have some kind of connection to either the judge or the clerk? A stone-cold email will probably just be ignored.

Yeah, it can’t hurt to cold email but OP should try to find some kind of connection or introduction here.

One other thing that occurs to me - why not try for an externship (if in law school) or your school's career services office/professors working in poly sci or prelate (if in undergrad) to try to find judges who are looking for interns?
