Litigation to Transaction

Hopefully this is the correct place to post this:

Went into this previous summer set on litigation and came out desperate to escape. Tried to go through 3L OCI, but did not have much luck (feel like I made a bunch of connections though...especially since I didn't interview with transactional groups during 2L OCI). I am currently making sure I cover all of the basic "transactional" classes and participating in my schools transaction clinic (which I am really enjoying). As I finish my 3L year, is there anything I could/should be doing to put myself in a better position to make the change once I start practice? Also, FWIW I will most likely need to switch firms because the firm I am going to only has a very small corporate group and has told me already that I am being hired into the litigation group and they don't foresee having opportunities for me to switch.

there will be postings throughout the year for specific practice groups that are more corporate-facing that you may have a shot at assuming you have the grades. A lot of large firms always seem to be looking for exec. comp. and cap markets associates. If you’re that desperate to get out of lit, these two areas may be options.
