V10 Exit from T1 School

Going into my second year at a V10 firm in NY, but I normally see posts from people who went to more competitive schools. Are good exit ops for 3rd/4th year lit associates at V10 firms from low T1 law schools not as likely? I’m sure having a T10 undergrad background probably doesn’t do much at this point, either.

I know lit doesn’t provide the most lucrative exit ops like corporate, but I’m curious if my LS’s pedigree will prevent me from going to another firm later on in NY or in a secondary market where I grew up.

The further away you get from law school, the less people care about where you went. Besides, you have a V10 firm on your resume - you're fine.

Vault rankings are worthless for litigation so I wouldn't use that as a barometer. That said, when you get to be a mid-level in a few years places will care more about what you've done than where you went to school. Having worked at a biglaw firm for several years will be more important than the school you went to

If Vault rankings are worthless for litigation, what's the best barometer?

I’m the OP. I agree that Vault is very NY and corporate-focused, but just wanted to provide that generic description to not out myself too much. I think most people on here believe Chambers and the band strengths of each firm on that site are more telling of a firm’s litigation strengths.

If my firm is pretty much the strongest in every area of litigation, then being from a low T1 school is not going to hurt me?
