Ivins v Caplin Drysdale

I recently got a lateral offer from Caplin Drysdale, which I am going to probably accept, but I saw that Ivins posted a similar position recently. I would like to try to quickly interview there before deciding.

I know that Ivins seems to be considered the gold standard for the tax/benefits boutiques, but can someone elaborate as to why? Chambers seems to rank Caplin Drysdale ahead of Ivins in most categories. Is it because Ivins is super selective? Or is Ivins just so small that it doesn’t really get captured in the Chambers rankings?

Is it because of pay? I think I heard that Ivins and Groom pay market, but Caplin has a larger bonus (I think Ivins has no bonus).

I know this is a really specific question and could probably fall under another thread, but wanted to specifically focus on these firms.
