Top Law Schools

It's been decided. I thought I F'ed up, but managed to squeeze out whatever I can get.

I'll be with a Korean law firm (biglaw, but hardly known in the US I assume. Summer Associate. Likely future employment, but had I been interested in that, I would not have posted this.) during May/June and EEOC Hearings Unit (Major Market, Not DC) for July/Aug. In the meantime, I will be remotely working with a small Appellate firm, drafting some of their briefs. No future employment here.

I would love some general advice for 3L hiring (Not necessarily biglaw. Any decent midlaw is nice for me too), but first of all:
1) Do I have to give excuses for working at a Korean firm on my Cover Letter? (There was a compelling reason. I can't write here though)
2) Is it nevertheless bad on my resume?

Plus, sharing my specs.

Top 25. Grade slightly above median.
Law Review (2ndary) Not published.
1st place, National Moot Court.
Perfect bilingual - Korean/English + Some Chinese.
No sponsorship issue. (Green Card)
1L Summer intern at not prestigious Dist. Ct.

Hey there. You should be fine. My friend was in a similar situation, she summered at Kim & Chang thinking that she wanted to practice in Korea, but life happened and she decided she wanted to stay in the U.S. instead. Assuming you're summering in a corporate group, you push your interest in cross border work. 3L hiring is a total crapshoot, but it's possible if you keep an open mind and have your narrative straight. So, long story short, no you don't need to give excuses and no it won't look bad, you just have to sell it in a coherent way to 3L employers.
