Applying as a mid-level lateral for the tech practice from a V10 in SV. Anybody know anything about the office, culture, or work?

I interviewed with them for a different group and the people were really wonderful. It's maybe the friendliest firm I've ever visited. They all seemed to genuinely like each other and they appear to foster an incredibly collaborate/supportive environment.

I know someone working in the SV office and they say that the people in that particular office are great and tend to be close since the office isn't that big. Same person says that the SF office is a little more "intense" than the SV office.

I actually know a decent amount about that office, having been fairly close with a number of people that spent time there, as well as other SV firms. The work is pretty good. They get a lot of great SV clients for a non-indigenous firm. I think the best right now outside of the indigenous. It is still on the small side and is fairly tight knit as those things go. They tend to hang out outside of the office more. They tend to have a bit of a harder drinking and partying culture I think. Do not think the hours or demands are particularly hard though.

I think it's generally a good place to go if you're into a small, slightly fratty office.

I agree with the above. A few of my friends are in the SF office, and they've enjoyed their experience so far. No screamer partners and interesting work. I'd say they're on par with at least one of the indigenous firms and growing in reputation.
