Gap Year Between Clerkships

As mentioned in the title, I'm very unsure how to navigate a gap year I have between clerkships. I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and how it played out.

Basically Graduation -> biglaw for a year -> D.Ct. clerkship -> return to prior firm or accept an offer in a firm's lit group with more interesting work -> COA clerkship.

I just recieved the COA clerkship, so I'm torn about how to navigate this scenario. Any insight would be great!

I know people who have gone back to a firm/to a new firm, people who have found interesting one year fellowships, people who have worked with mentors/advisors/judges to set up one year opportunities at various types of organizations, or people who have done another clerkship. I think it really depends on what your interests and goals are and what your salary needs are.
