Retiring as part-time Pro Bono Counsel

I'm curious. I'd like to retire and do some part-time pro bono work (10-20hrs/wk.) in a fairly rural community. Is this a reasonable possibility? Would a local firm put me up on their website as a pro bono counsel (no pay required) or would a legal aid organization accept my help?

Legal aid, certainly, especially if you don't ask for pay. Local firm, probably not, because malpractice insurance is expensive (but of course anything's possible if you get to know the partners) so you'd be costing the firm $ even if you don't take a salary.
