Any V&E (or similar—K&E, LW, etc.) transactional associates in Houston have a sense of how hot the M&A and other transactional groups are right now? I'm looking at lateraling and want to get an idea of whether I'll have a life outside the office once I arrive.

There's work to go around, but not everyone is crushed. You'd be fine.

At V&E as well. Plenty of work to go around but you'll be fine.

Thanks for the responses, y’all. Is group morale generally good? You happy to be there or looking toward the exits?

I am interested in knowing the same for V&E banking/finance and capital markets.

A source in the V&E Dallas office says finance (in Dallas) is slammed.

Finance and capital markets are two separate groups at V&E and will depend on office. I can generally say that most transactional groups are pretty busy here but not more so than peer firms in TX and otherwise. I think morale at V&E is generally pretty good and is a great place to work all other things considered.

So how are MACM associates' hours looking so far? On pace for 2300+, or lighter?
