If you have ties in MIA, start with those before talking to a recruiter. There are only a handful of biglaw slots in MIA compared to NYC, and you want to be very careful in how you target those that are available. A bad recruiter will indiscriminately spam firms and could actually shut you out of the market.Anonymous User wrote:Looking for a good one. Lateraling from NYC to MIA. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! I'm from the area, but I don't have any connections to any firms in MIA, so wondering what the best approach is here.nealric wrote:If you have ties in MIA, start with those before talking to a recruiter. Do you have any childhood friends who went to UF or UM? They may have friends at these firms that they can help get a referral from.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks! Be 100% sure before you draw that conclusion. Even friends of friends who are associates can come in handy. Failing that, any lawyers you know in MIA (of an ilk) could be a good starting point.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks!
