Interested in finding respected plaintiff litigation boutiques in Los Angeles. Think firms with a similar reputation to Sanford Heisler, Lieff Cabraser, Bredhoff Kaiser, Altshuler Berzon. As of present, I've only been able to find two in the LA metro -- Hadsell Stormer and AMG Law.

Your post makes it seem like you're only considering LA, but the title says SoCal in general, so:
Check out Robbins Geller in San Diego. Aside from San Diego being a much better place to live (in my opinion), Robbins Geller is a solid firm: well respected in the region, but also getting national work (they were involved in some of the biggest payouts in the Enron litigation). Securities litigation is their bread and butter.

There are a number. Check out Bernstein Litowitz, Hagens Berman, and Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy.

What type of plaintiffs’ work? I work in LA and do a bunch of consumer class action defense, and we are not really dealing with any of the plaintiffs’ firms people reference on TLS (except Cohen Milstein sometimes). My sense is that a lot of these firms are very focused on plaintiff-side securities litigation (e.g. Robbins Geller), which is great but not the end all be all of plaintiffs’ work.
