TIP/TARE interview invitations are out! Thought I would create a thread to discuss invites as well as subsequent interviews/offers/dings.

Has anyone heard from any of the resume collect firms?

I feel like TIP is a bit of crapshoot. Bid on so many but got barely a handful (when my credentials are pretty decent).

Where's everyone interviewing? Is anyone surprised by the number of interviews or firms you are interviewing with?
It looks like NYC Tax 3.7+, NYC Exec. Comp. 3.5+ and Non-NYC Tax 3.5+

I agree. I know people with fairly low GPAs who have 8-10 interviews and others who did quite well who only have a handful. I was lucky enough to get most of the ones I bid on, but the couple I didn't get were mid-range firms offering exec comp positions.

The person I was thinking about has a decent mixture of law firms and accounting firms.

That's great to hear that firms are not only looking at LLM grades. NYC Firms?

Jesus, those GPA cut-offs are high. OCI seems as tough as it was in the JD program. Not a LLM student, but an applicant. Probably have no business posting here but had to.

I've heard from 1 biglaw firm so far that wants to schedule me for a screener in the coming weeks.
I also applied to just law firms at TIP and got 8 interviews (major markets - NYC/DC/Boston). Median at T20, Median at NYU LL.M. Relevant tax work experience during law school.

I have one screener scheduled with a resume collect firm and have 15 law firm interviews at TIP (though not all NYC--several in California as well).

For those of you with a lot of interviews, how much are you going to research the firms/individual screeners?

Hmm, I would have guessed higher since KPMG & PwC recruited so heavily in the fall.

I am just curious to the level of success individuals have at TARE? Do most individuals get jobs at TARE? What are the chances somebody has multiple interviews and no callback/job offer? Basically I am trying to gage the level of success you all had with this event. Thanks!

My first interview is at 8:30 as well. Do you think we'll be notified of callbacks before Monday?

I hope so, but I suspect they may need to make decisions after finishing all the interviews so the timing of interview tomorrow is not that important. It may depend on the firm.

Will we have a registration room for NYU/GULC separately or the registration room will be the same one for two schools?
