Anyone in-house at a family office (bonus if single family office)? I would love to hear about your day to day, career options going forward (eg, are you pigeon holed to remaining at a family office) and pros/cons versus being in-house at an operating company. I’m also interested in how it compares to being in-house at a PE shop or other financial service conpanies.

I'm in house at a single family office. I did fund formation beforehand. Day to day is quite varied, depending on the size of the office and legal team, you need to be comfortable being a generalist - T&E, funds, tax, internal/external contracts, HR, etc., outsourcing as appropriate. I also work daily with attorneys at the operating company, representing the family when their interests might diverge from the opco. I think the big difference between PE etc and FO is broader array of issues / smaller team. Will all depend on size of family and nature of opco business.

What would you say pros and cons are compared to other in-house gigs outside of PE/banks?
