A boutique firm wants to give me an offer but they asked me to give them a salary range. I said I didn’t have a number in mind but I hope they take into consideration my past legal experience and the fact that I will be bringing in business.

I didn’t want to give a range because if my range is too high then I could potentially scare them off and if my range is too low then well id be screwing myself. Lol.

They said I’ll get an answer in a couple days.

Is this the correct response?

Your response seems appropriate and, at least, in line with TLS' consensus to best practices re: answering the "salary question."
