Send application materials Friday or wait til next week?

I was planning on sending my application materials to the recruiting department/partner tomorrow but a friend of mine said that it would be better to do it at the beginning of the week because it’s more likely to be seen. Is there any truth to this?

Just send it.
Recruiting department = it's their job, they will see it.
Partner = if busy, won't see (or will ignore). If less busy, might see but won't care (or will forward to recruiting department).
