Advice on Career after Plaintiff's Litigation Work

Hey everyone,
I am currently working at a national asbestos litigation only plaintiff's law firm. I generally draft responses to MSJs and motions to strike in my day to day. I graduated from a T14 school with a median GPA.
My question is, if I want to lateral to a big law firm, when is the best time to do so? I have already had big law experience during a summer internship and so feel that I am generally competitive for a lateral move as long as 1) I do not pigeonhole myself into this field and 2) I get substantive experience before leaving.
If anyone has thoughts or advice, I would love to hear them. I would really like to lateral out to a big law firm and want to maximize my chances in doing so.
