Just wondering if anyone has insights on Snell and Wilmer compensation. First year salaries aren’t difficult to find, but raise and bonus information seems outdated or non-existent.

Have no first hand knowledge, but my understanding is that after your first year compensation is blackbox. They tend to be a more conservative firm, and compensation talk is limited. From what I’ve gathered, you’ll get modest increases, but it won’t be anywhere near the Cravath/Milbank scale increases even adjusting for the lower COL in the Southwest.

Echo what the above says. It is very black box and not lockstep so it varies among ppl of the same year based on practice group, general satisfaction with performance, the value they give to you based on purely subjective factors, hours billed, business development, etc.

In other words, we would need to know more information about you to say. But for context, a mid-lvl associate may receive anywhere from 140k to 160k. Bonus could be from 5-15k for a mid level.

Snell is very proud of being black box, and discussion is frowned upon.

You can expect around 5k annual bumps in salary. People dont come to Snell for the pay, they come for other reasons.
