Offered international tax with one Big Four at 20% less than SALT at another Big Four in the same city. Lower paying firm won't budge. All other benefits pretty much the same. Comfortable at both firms. Hoping to eventually go in-house. Thoughts?

Personally, I'd pick international unless you won't be stuck doing SALT compliance. I dislike SALT work, so for me even the 20% discrepancy would not be enough for me to want to be in a SALT group. I don't know about in-house gigs from SALT, but they are fairly common from International.

It's hard to say without knowing your financial situation and own personal preferences, but I find international tax to be *significantly* more interesting than SALT work.
