How annoyed are firms if you wait close to the full 30 day NALP period to accept? I have a paranoid fantasy that when they choose who to no-offer they choose the kid that dragged them along.

No one will remember. Don't worry about it.

This is why it's important to go to a 100% offer firm.

Do you really need 30 days to decide though?

Im hoping it won't take that much time (I'm at about the two week mark right now), but one firm which is my top choice has been dragging out my answer after a CB for almost a month (possibly because I made the mistake of saying I was interested in another market and they're waiting to see if I drop them first). I may not hear from them until very close to the deadline.

Send the recruiter an email and say that they are still your top choice, but you have other offers that are expiring shortly. This expedited the process for me. The recruiter was reasonable in understanding that I wanted to have all of my options on the table before deciding.
