Paul Hastings or Fried Frank (NY)?

Really like both firms, I’m interested in corporate work (don’t know what area specifically). Is the prestige of these two firms similar? Vault rankings don’t really seem to say that much. Will one have better exit opportunities (for in-house, etc) down the line? Any advice would be appreciated!

What was the timeline between your PH cb and offer?

Fried Frank is so much better. Their revenue per lawyer is ahead of Davis Polk's.

PH doesn't have a great reputation for treating its associates well. (It even puts first & second years in cubicles in "pods of 12.") My vote's in for the hot dog.

Is Paul Hastings even a good firm? Idk what justifies its high vault ranking.

Fried Frank.

Fried Frank. It is a better firm with better clients and (most important) nicer people. Only thing that would make me think twice was if you didn't want to be in NY.

Fried Frank isn’t very high on the vault rankings, is it a well known/respected firm though?

I am assuming you want NYC. Vault is worthless. Use Chambers and AmLaw. FF is pretty well-respected in the NY market. Paul Hastings is not well-known at all.

FF for NY corporate. Taking conference calls from a pod for two years sounds horrible.

I'm assuming "The Elite" is better generally than "Highly Regarded"? So Band 4 for elite is better than band 3 highly regarded?
