Piercings & Biglaw

I have ear piercings (double lobe, cartilage) and while this didn't seem to be a problem during interviews, I am working in biglaw in a major market and actually want one more cartilage piercing.

**For those of you actually working/who worked in biglaw** how much is this actually frowned upon, do I have to say goodbye to my cartilage piercing? My firm is generally known for being more laid back and not super formal/hard assed, but wonder if anyone has experience on this. I am female, if that matters.

I would say to just take them out/cover them in court. There is an attorney in my office with an industrial and no one says anything about it. And a few of the female attorneys have ankle tattoos that they don’t cover up in the office and no one has said anything. I believe they all cover up in court, though.

I know plenty of people in biglaw ny (female, fwiw) with a ton of ear piercings. Not a problem at all, at least in the firm office. Small tattoos (ankle, wrist, etc.) also pretty common and not at all a problem. People do hide these things depending on going to court, meeting with clients, etc. Just use your judgement about who you think will care (other than the ppl in your firm, bc sounds like they don't like a lot of major market firms)
