What’s its reputation? Salary info? Hours? Advancement prospects? Do they try cases frequently? Credentials required to land a job (currently a lit second year at a V10 with honors from a T14 and a district court clerkship)?
Specifically interested in the Tampa office, which has only 12 attorneys. But it looks like many do some white collar crim work, which really interests me. Finally, some attorneys are listed as staff attorneys, while others are listed as associates. What gives?

Salary is below market. Hours vary, but not a sweatshop. Good rep. A lot of trials, multiple per year. Your credentials are competitive. Staff attorneys are non-partner track. They handle the more routine work, though everybody, including partners, handle that kind of stuff from time to time.

Thanks for the info. A few follow ups if you don’t mind. Any more specifics on salary/bonuses? And does the attorney decide whether to be a staff attorney versus associate, or is that decision made for you?

Bumping this. Anyone care to speak about their experience at Zuckerman? How below market is the comp? Does the work-life balance live up to expectations? Considering applying to the DC office after I finish my clerkship later this year, and would appreciate any and all info.

I know someone who is very happy there. Great work life balance and will more or less be running a trial next year.

If you listen to NPR podcasts in the DC area their ads appear all the time in the commercial breaks. If you are a firm that thinks your potential clients are likely to be routine NPR listeners, I have to assume your workplace culture is kinder and gentler than most.

Can anyone give a ballpark estimate on hours? 1900-2100?

One of their recruiters contacted me to invite me to a clerkship event a while back. I declined. As a lawyer of color, I’ve gotten used to seeing lots of people that don’t look like me on a law firm websites, but this firm seemed particularly homogenous. Notably, every single one of their 43 partners is white.

Bumping this thread. Can't find any published info on comp or hours. Washington Post had an article 7 years ago that stated they had a PPP of $1mil+ but nothing about associate salaries.
