NYU Transfer 2L Bidlist Help?

Hello! I'm a new transfer to NYU and trying to work out my bid list (opens on the 30th). My GPA is a 3.504 (I was top 30% at my old school which was ranked 26-28), I'm fairly sure it used a similar median to the one used at NYU but that feels like a black box. I went to NYU undergrad, and did have some work experience (held jobs four the four years I was there, but nothing super impressive). I'd like to think I would be at least an okay interviewee.

I have a bid list going but I'm basically looking for some input. I'm looking to do litigation. In terms of subject areas I'm thinking labor law, anti-trust, appellate, or national security/congressional investigations work (I know that's a lot).

I've tried to sort of use the old forums on this, and the information from OCS but wanted some fresh eyes to tell me if anything was insane on it, or if I really needed to move anything. This list is a work in progress so I would really appreciate any critique.

As a transfer you might want to hedge your list a little more. Your GPA is good and that's great, but you have to realize that some firms, especially the most preftigious, will look down on you a bit for being a transfer. I'm not saying don't bid on any of them, but you should probably put a few safeties in your top 10.

Cravath, Wachtell, and S&C are wasted bids with that GPA from a transfer - some of the others are unlikely to pan out as well, but those would be it off the top of my head. Use results from your old school as a rule of thumb, and move places like Sidley up to ensure that you get screeners there.

Thanks for your advice, that's really helpful. I felt the same way but just wanted to be sure that correcting it would put me on a better track. I'm still trying to understand it all. Do you have any suggestions for what is considered more of a safety bid? Places lower on the vault 100 with larger class sizes or are there other factors as well?

thank you so much again!

Thank you so much also! I really appreciate the candid advice. I felt the same but was feeling pressure to bid for them top if I was going to at all. If you have any other advice please let me know you were a huge help
