How did everyone do with pre-selects? I got a low amount considering my grades

I'm happy with the result, but surprised about how uneven it was. I got 1 preselect and 2 alts from 1* firms, but dings at several firms I had networked with in my GPA band.

Most of those dings were for offices with 20 screener slots. Pretty sure the lottery will even out the results a little.

I bid really conservatively, so not sure how a lot of the lower tier NYC firms did not give me a pre-select

I was really really disappointed when I got my preselect list because almost none of the firms I was interested in were on the list. I even called Kdon freaking out. At the time he reassured me, I didnt believe him, but in the end he was right. I ended up with interviews with all of my top 7 firms and got offers from 5. And I was targetting DC and another difficult insular market with pretty bare bones ties. Basically, my advice is (1) trust the process, (2) trust Kdon, (3) trust yourself, (4) make sure you're prepared so you're ready when an opportunity presents itself.

Also called career services freaking out after my pre-selects.

Trust in the system - things tend to work out in the end, even if it seems hopeless at the time. And this should go without saying, but try to be conscious of your classmates who may not be doing as well as you during OGI.

Good luck everyone. Keep going at it until you have an offer in hand. For some that will take longer than others but don’t get discouraged, everyone who keeps at it will get a job.

I think it depends. Some will ding via email or letter but I think if you end up on a sort of waitlist, you won't really hear back
