Would you go to Kirkland for PE if you had the chance?

I'm sure from all accounts the hours are grueling, but doesn't this also make K&E the best training ground for doing PEMA (which is what I'm currently doing, but considering a lateral move)?
Any other thoughts on K&E, specifically LA office? What's culture like? I have a pretty long commute, do people care a ton about facetime or are people occasionally working from home on Fridays/weekends?
What about the whole free market system? Is it really that bad?

Bump. Also, how grade selective is Kirkland for junior laterals?

It depends. I think median from a t14 is good enough.
But if you’re at a lower tier 1 school, probably need high honors (magna cum laude or above).

This is true for summer associates, but I know laterals into PE at Kirkland that were T1 and just above median.
