fail the bar-kirkland & ellis

Does anyone w/ personal experience or know of Kirkland (NYC)'s policy for failing the bar? Do you get a 2nd chance. The offer letter says "contingent on becoming a member of the new york bar" so that's why I am asking if they give a 2nd chance. I know most firms do, but just wondering if anyone knows specifically for Kirkland. Do people care/treat you worse for having failed the first time, or is it just seen as an opportunity for the person to take the bar exam. Thank you!

If you’re working for Kirkland in New York you’re not going to fail the bar.

I remember panicking about failing the bar and mbe came back 170something.

how do you know your MBE score? I'm pretty sure I didn't get that info--only learned that I passed.

NY state tells you in your passing letter.

As a policy matter, you will prob be fired after the second failure—o/w, just embarrassing and you probably are just “that person” until you work your way out of it (but you really can’t fail twice).
If you did fail, get studying immediately—firms don’t give you more than a week or two off after the first one out of school.
Agreed that this is hard to fail though, esp if you prepped like you were going to a place like K&E NY and needed to pass.

I really thought I was going to fail the bar too, in a UBE state, and I think my bar score was something like 332 or 335. Passing score was ~260. If you properly studied with a bar prep course (and you had the credentials to get a job at K&E straight out of law school), you'll be okay unless you like.. give birth in the middle of the exam. Apparently there are people who have done that and still passed.

Yeah, this is silly. There are folks that fail the bar at just about every top firm every year. Most of the time its because the person didn't apply themselves properly during bar prep, or some testing snafu/test anxiety.

The [mistaken] assumption is that Kirkland invariably applies high and strict grade and school cutoffs in hiring.
