Point out grade increase in Cover Letter?

I am at a lower-ranked T13 school. My first semester I made 3.1. No real excuse, worked incredibly hard and just didn't do well. My second semester I made some changes to how I approach law school (basically spent all semester preparing for the exams instead of focusing on preparing for the daily classes) and made a 3.85. Should I point out my dramatic grade increase in cover letter, or should I just let my transcript speak for itself?

No. Speaks for itself.

Don't put it in the CL. They'll take notice of it themselves. You could for example put it on your resume like this: Overall GPA: 3.XX, Spring 2018 Semester: 3.85.

lmao how would you do it for one's law school career?
GPA: 3.33 (1L: 3.17, 2L: 3.33, 3L: 3.48)?

^ if you have a 3.33, you leave your GPA off. Problem solved.

Nah, maybe if it's a 2.33, but a 3.33 is competitive at most schools. I pretty much assume that your GPA doesn't make our hard cutoff if you leave it off your resume.

A 3.33 is competitive at a t13.
My firm has a soft 3.4 cutoff for the next grouping of schools.
