It may have taken some time, but now we can welcome the D.C. firm Covington to the ranks of the matching.

Firm is HQ'd in a secondary market. ATL/PHL/MIA type market. I WAS at market 180 in BOS, I doubt I'll see a bump to 190. Our BOS office only has like 40 attorneys. V100, but a little closer to 100 than 50.

As we inch ever closer to July 1, the date when most of the announced Biglaw raises become effective, associates at firms that haven’t announced raises yet are getting increasingly anxious. That’s been especially true at King & Spalding — a firm with a staggering $1,138,540,000 in revenue, placing it 21st in profitability and 22nd in profits per partner.

Enter Olshan Frome Wolosky, a firm that boosted its first-year salaries to $170K in 2016 when everyone else was falling over themselves to match the $180K scale, whether they could afford to do so or not. The firm is doing the same thing, offering up a raise that’s $10,000 below the new Biglaw starting salary.

As Biglaw firms go, Choate Hall & Stewart is on the small side. The firm only has its Boston office, and about 200 attorney, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t getting on the associate raise train!

The firm announced raises for associates, counsel, staff scientists and patent agents. The associate/counsel raises are on the now familiar market scale.

serious question what is the point of this thread? like why are these narrative posts useful when you're just sort of summarizing ATL / the real raise thread?

Today the firm WilmerHale announced raises for its associates in accordance with the prevailing market scale — yes, they’re effective as of yesterday, July 1st, the same effective date most other Biglaw firms.
