Dentons has been affiliated with a firm in Hawaii of about 50 attorneys, Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing, for about a year now, and just formally voted to combine with that firm. Has anyone worked at a firm that was similarly combined with Dentons? How was the transition?

It's the ultimate McFirm. It out DLA's DLA. 7,000+ attorneys in 150+ offices. Your Hawaii shop is out to be assimilated into the Borg. On the plus side, Dentons has more name recognition and thus, arguably, better exit options. On the negative side, you may be subject to a restructuring or refocusing that disrupts what you're used to.

How difficult would it be to jump from the Hawaii office to another office on the mainland?

Why would you want to do that?

Higher compensation and lower cost of living.
