NYC ADA to where?

Hey all,

TTTT and shitty grades.

Current appellate ADA with spectacular reviews and substantial experience arguing at NY CoA and the 2nd Circuit (to say nothing of the intermediate appellate courts).

The work is awesome but the pay blows. What should I be looking at in terms of exit options? Is it worth attempting a clerkship to open the door to private? Should I leave the appellate bureau and try to do some more trials?

WTF am I even qualified for? I don't do white collar, but would firms know that I'm a rock star at deep legal research and advocacy?

Look at some NYC insurance defense firms. Med mal for more prestige. I knew a few former prosecutors who have made such a move.

Solicitor general, career clerk at the appellate division, trial court career clerk. Not models and bottles money, but more than you're making, and your experience is relevant.
