I've heard working in Delaware is a good backdoor into big law. Is this true? Are some ties necessary to land a Delaware firm job? What are the Delaware firms?

Lots of big firms have DE offices or HQs, DPA Piper, Greeberg Taurig, Skadden, Venable, Reed Smith. Do a law firm search on Vault or so if you want a full list.

Working in Delaware is a really broad act. That can mean being a cashier at Target or Walmart in Delaware, being a paralegal in a law firm, having some attorney experience, etc. Of course some of those are more or less useful to landing a legal job in Delaware, but I think lots of the principles that apply to getting a biglaw job in general will apply to Delaware. Including as it relates to the ties question — are you intending to stay there for some time or do a short stint? Also, in the very limited context of your post, backdoor is also a really vague phrase. Do you mean backdoor for a SA, if so 1L, 2L, or 3L? Backdoor for lateraling? You might have to bump less with more specific questions.

Sure thing, Will do a Vault/NALP search and report back. Was wondering if there are bigger sized firms in Delaware that wouldn't be on those sites.

Backdoor for a 2L SA, as in that it's less competitive than other markets because most people do not think about applying to Delaware. I am interested in bankruptcy, so Delaware + NYC seem like two of the best places for that (though have also heard there is a lot of bankruptcy action going on in Texas right now).
