GS11 --> GS14, how long does this take?
Assuming you were hired as a GS11 attorney -- how long does it take to go from a GS11 to a GS14? Additionally, how long does it take to go from 14-15? Any thoughts on hitting GS14 and leaving for private practice instead of sticking around for the GS15?

Between 3 and thirty years for gs-11 to gs-15. Just depends on the agency. The good ones will bump you one level a year, gs14 after three years is not rare.

I think some agencies limit GS-15 to supervisory positions? If that's the case, how long it would take to get there will totally depend on you, your abilities, and your agency's needs.

Yeah, I believe at most agencies that is the rule, but not all.Anonymous User wrote:I think some agencies limit GS-15 to supervisory positions? If that's the case, how long it would take to get there will totally depend on you, your abilities, and your agency's needs.
