Top Law Schools

So rundown: This summer isn't my first at the SEC - I've been at the SEC for a prior (fall/spring) semester already, so I have that experience. As a 2L who is going to be a 3L next year, and at a t14, is there a solid chance of me being able to lock in a biglaw gig? I am 100% flexible in my location.

I don't see why not. SEC is a really big achievement. However, have you considered doing SEC Honors? That is probably even more prestigious (and less headaches) than Biglaw. SEC Honors is hard to get, but you're at a T14 (I'm assuming Georgetown; I could be wrong) and you've worked there many times. That definitely shows that you're willing to go through the grueling process of getting SEC Honors.

How did OCI go? 3L hiring is a crap shoot, but it's worth an application. All they can do is say "no." Trust me, though, that while you're probably blinded by the money, Biglaw isn't for everyone.

Well, all of the SEC's internship programs (as far as I know) are "honors" programs. I assume you're referring to the SEC "Chairs Attorney" Honor Program? (the one where participants get hired out of graduation?) If so, while I would love to apply to that program, I believe the hiring freeze has put that program on hold (of course, I could be wrong).

OCI went about as well as you might expect. But I appreciate your input––the point of this post for me was to see whether I am on par with, or stand a better shot at, 3L hiring when compared to other applicants (those who turned down their biglaw firm after summering, those coming from USAO summer internships, etc)
