below median grades and biglaw

I'm at one of the T3 schools and so far, my grades have been below median. I hope to have an LA biglaw job but worried my grades will hold me back. I am from LA, and am pretty much dead set on going back. How can I maximize my chances of landing LA biglaw besides raising grades? I am spending my summer in LA and plan on emailing some people at firms like OMM, Proskauer, etc. Any other tips would help, thanks.

Wait....so you're below median at a non-LA T3 and want to go back to LA to do Biglaw? Not going to lie, your prospects aren't too great....i guess all you can do is to network and send out massive amounts of emails to get your name out there.

Not sure why you didn't choose to attend a school in LA if you were dead set on going back though.

Do you mean HYS or tier 3? If you’re not HYS, you have no shot at biglaw, never mind OMM.

LA has UCLA/USC and people from Berkeley/Stanford to choose from, so they don’t need anyone outside of those schools. If you’re T14, you have a shot, but outside of that, below median at another school = no shot realistically.
