What's good everyone!

Long time lurker, 1st time poster. I was hoping I could get some advice/words of wisdom from any of you who are familiar with the NYC legal market. I recently moved from another state to NY a few months ago. I also just sat for the Feb NY Bar and am now actively job searching before results come back. Failing miserably.

For some b/g info about me, I graduated median at T20 school, mock/moot exp., managing editor law journal, lit. experience in small shops, passed bar in another jurisdiction.

Realistically speaking, I've given up on the possibility of landing a biglaw job. I'm looking for a good mid-size firm or if I'm really lucky, an in-house position that can give me good experience. The goal is to get as much experience as possible so I can try to lateral somewhere bigger in a few years. I'm also fortunate to not have any debt so money isn't my first consideration. Although, I left a $75K job before going to law school so I would really hope the job paid more than that though

I was lucky enough not to have to mass mail back in school so I'm not even sure if I'm going about this correctly right now. I've just been applying via my school's job board as well as cold-emailing firms with my resume, CL, etc.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks a ton! Go dubs!

See if your school's CSO can get you reciprocity with a NYC school's job board. Tons of job opportunities listed on there that aren't available to the general public.

Thanks for the advice. I actually had spoken with my CSO before posting this but unfortunately for me, it doesn’t look like it’s a super straightforward process for me to get access to these other boards. Crossing my fingers they come through but in the meanwhile, I’m looking for other ways to find more jobs to apply to m before it gets any later. Appreciate the reply though!
