I applied to White and Case ages ago for a summer associate position. For some reason, they finally decided to get back to me now, but their email was a little odd. In it, they said they couldn't move forward with my application since their summer class was full. However, they ended the email by saying "We hope that you will apply to us for a position in our 2019 Summer Program."

They certainly know I'm currently a 2L, so are they saying that 3L's can apply for their summer associate program? Is it just a mistake (my assumption is that it is)? If it's not, are their other firms like White and Case that open up summer associate positions for graduat(ing) 3L's?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but thats almost certainly just a form email they send out to 1Ls. I've never heard of a post-3L summer associate program at any big law firm. I know most of the responses I got from mass-mailing my 1L summer sounded basically exactly like this.

That's about what I thought, just wanted to confirm. Kind of funny that they didn't even take the time to make sure they're ending out the correct boiler-plate email
